The Image of the Gifts

Magi come from a foreign land bring gifts to ‘the one born King of the Jews’. God chose lavish gifts to show how He would provide for us through the greatest gift of all time.

Christmas is not here to offer

a four-week escape

from the pain of the world

with a paper-thin layer of twinkle lights.

It is not here to anesthetize us

with bows and eggnog lattes.

Christmas is not offering us the chance

to escape the ache of life

through piles of presents.

Christmas is God saying,

"Yes, this pain is too much. Yes, it is too sad.

Yes, the ache is too great. Hang on.

I'll come carry it with your."

Christmas is a time to remember the birth of Jesus! It's a season many look forward to celebrating. And yet, we know that for many this time of year can be really difficult, for lost of different reasons. Unexpected Serving

Join us as a church and choose one of the options below to bless and serve someone unexpectedly before Christmas or create your own ‘serving’ opportunity and ask God where and what you should do to serve someone else and then go do it. Click the link below for some ideas to get you started.

Unexpected Serving Ideas

Season of Giving

Each Christmas, we want to be a place that blesses others through our Season of Giving initiative. Our hope is to provide opportunities to generously bless others as a church-wide family. Each year you have responded in ways that demonstrate your incredible desire to serve and love God and others. This year, we are again calling you to come together as the Church to give extravagantly so that others may be blessed in the name of Jesus. It is with much prayer that for 2022 we are shifting our focus from multiple recipients to just one; the Tim Sherman family. Tim was our Student Ministry Pastor from 2005 – 2012 and their family is forever part of our Mainstreet family. We wish we could bless everyone who has unexpected financial needs or who is need of our support. Because this is not practically possible, we choose to “do for one what we wish we could do for all”.

Use the link below to learn more about the journey the Shermans are currently walking. We ask that you keep them in your prayers and consider joining us to bless them boldly by using the link below.

Salvation Army Kettle

We have long been a partner with the Salvation Army at Christmastime. Each year we provide labor and support to their local efforts for their Red Kettle campaign. Their ministry efforts provide financial support to families in need for medical and utility expenses, so we want to make sure they have the resources to do so in the coming winter months. You can give in the lobby each Sunday or online  through Mainstreet HERE
