Our Mission: Mainstreet Preschool is a Christ-centered, non-profit preschool fostering spiritual, intellectual, social and emotional growth in young children. We provide a nurturing and safe environment where children can learn and explore through play-based learning while developing a love for God, people and live like Jesus.
Candidate should: Live out the center’s vision, mission, and core values by providing classroom leadership and management while working with the children, their families, and other team members to accomplish the following criteria with consistency and excellence.
The Position: Mainstreet Preschool seeks a passionate and experience Lead Teacher for our 3-5 year old classes. This is a part-time job (10-month position) as we follow a school year calendar. (September-May)
Qualifications: High school Diploma, 3-5 years of experience working with children in a classroom setting, higher education or training in Education or Children’s Ministry. Must have a clear BCI/FBI. CPR/First Aid certified (or capable of completing immediately following hiring.).

7. Provides leadership while working collaboratively with other team members.
8. Participate in outreach activities to connect with families (enrolled families and future families.)

Primary Responsibilities Include:
1. Has a thorough understanding of curriculum scope and sequence
2. Uses curriculum to guide developmentally appropriate activities for children that are age appropriate and are working toward
physical and academic milestones.
3. Observes, assesses and documents children’s developmental progress.
4. Initiates and develops rapport with children and families.
a. Communicates appropriate and accurate information to parents,
b. Communicates children’s behaviors and academic progress to parents in a truthful and encouraging manner.
5. Works with the assistant teacher to provide a daily report for each child and keeping classroom records.
6. Follows a daily schedule and routine, with weekly lesson plans.
7. Observes and understands the state requirements and standards to better prepare students for future schooling.
Physical Qualifications- Employee must be able to:
1. Observe, always hear and respond to the needs of the children in all locations
2. Communicate with the children and adults
3. Work in a fast-paced environment.
4. Able to lift children weighing 10-40lbs from the floor to waist as many as 15-30 times a day.
5. Crouch to a child’s height and maintain eye contact at a child’s level.
6. Sit on the floor with children.
7. Consistently works scheduled hours.
8. Handle the stress and tension of daily contact with children, their families and other team members.
Professional Development:
1. Complete a minimum of 15 in-service hours each year.
2. Attends any mandatory staff meetings.
3. Participates in service/outreach/fundraiser events.
