Pastor Kenneth E. Graham, 94, a devoted servant of Our Lord, passed away Wednesday, April19, 2023 at the Landings of Oregon, where he had been a resident. He was formerly of Walbridge, Ohio. Ken was born in Reno, PA on September 22, 1928, one of eight children of William and Ethel (Fulton) Graham. He received his bachelor’s degree in theology from Allentown Bible Institute in 1951, and during that time he met the love of his life, Rachel Gladfelter. They were married on March 17, 1951 and spent the next 71 wonderful years together until her death on September 24, 2022.
Kenneth went on to his first pastorate at Franklin United Brethren, in Franklin, PA from 1952-1958 and later in 1958 he transferred to Bowling Green United Brethren, in Bowling Green, Ohio, where he remained until 1960. Ken became the pastor of Main Street United Brethren Church, in Walbridge and would remain there, for the next 33 years until his retirement in 1993. During his tenure in Walbridge he went on to earn his Master of Arts degree from Bowling Green State University in 1969. Ken’s passions were his faith in God, softball, exercise, and gardening. Ken loved serving the Lord and dedicated his life to spreading his word so that others too may believe. He accomplished this task by not only preaching from the pulpit, but making many missionary trips to Jamaica where he helped with construction projects and to Africa to the United Brethren Church Mattru Hospital in Sierra Leone. It was there that he help with surgical procedures, delivering babies, and helping in the pharmacy. Over the years he also traveled to the Holy Land in Israel.
Ken’s love for his Lord, his wife, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were shown in his everyday life by everything he did and strived to do. A true example of what a disciple should be.
Ken is survived by his daughter, Susan (Tom) DeJarnette, son, Rick (Lisa) Graham, grandchildren, Peter John (Jordyn) Wilson, Kristi (James) Greene, Micah Graham, Caleb Graham, Noah Graham, several great-grandchildren, sister Myra Winger, and brother Mel (Shirley) Graham. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rachel, and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation for Ken will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, May 1, 2023 at the Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge, Ohio. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Mainstreet Church, 5465 Moline-Martin Road, Walbridge, Ohio (Moline), officiated by Pastor Marty Pennington.
