Rosemary Wyant was just a young girl the first time the Salvation Army touched her life. Her mother was gravely ill and wanted to see her son who was serving overseas in the military. The Salvation Army made this wish come true so a mother and son could embrace one more time before saying goodbye.

Years later, the Salvation Army came into Rosemary’s life again with a donation to Mainstreet Church and a request from Pastor Graham to oversee how the church could use it to help others. At the time she had no idea it would be the beginning of a lifetime of service to an organization that helps so many, including her own family at one time.

Just recently, Rosemary was award the Volunteer of the Year for Salvation Army of NW Ohio, which covers a five county area. Rosemary has been serving in the Salvation Army for over 26 years. She has helped countless families in our community, showing them the love of Christ by providing direct assistance from the Salvation Army, organizing Kettle drives, coordinating the annual Angel Tree outreach at Mainstreet and so much more. And still, her serving has never been limited to just the Salvation Army as she was a key part of the Jamaica Mission Trip for years and continues to be part of Mainstreet’s volunteer team.

Her response to our wanting to share this accomplishment? Well, she made it known that it was not about her, but rather what God has done through her. She also acknowledged others, sharing that none of it would have been possible without her husband, Ron, and Ruth Armstrong.

We hope you will join us in congratulating Rosemary as we celebrate her well-deserved award.
